Design of strengthening of reinforced concrete beams and columns using FRP
FRP Designer is a new program that provides an efficient solution for designing FRP strengthening of reinforced concrete beams and columns by calculating the strength of elements reinforced with FRP laminates. Specifically, the software calculates the flexural capacity and shear capacity of reinforced concrete elements before and after user-specified FRP strengthening. The standards currently implemented for calculation purposes are the following: Eurocode 8 (Part 3) and FIB 90, ACI 440/ACI 318 and the CNRT-DT 200 / NTC 2018.
Main Features
- Easy definition of existing element properties such as geometry, reinforcement, materials, loads, and standards-related parameters using an intuitive visual interface
- Wide variety of commercially available FRP laminates, and the user can introduce custom FRP laminate types
- Introduction into the program of parameters associated with FRP coating such as corner radius, number of FRP layers, etc.
- The flexural and shear capacity of an existing element with and without FRP strengthening can be easily calculated by FRP Designer according to three available codes. The European standards Eurocode 8 (Part 3) and FIB 90, the American ACI 440/ACI 318 and the Italian CNRT-DT 200 / NTC 18
